8/11/21 Job Description SUMMARY / OBJECTIVE:
The Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of manufacturing employees and the coordination of activities within the department to ensure that the company's overall business objectives are met or exceeded.
The supervisor is responsible for meeting production safety, quality, delivery, and cost objectives.
They will provide leadership in best practices and methodologies to effectively and safely facilitate efficient, on-time work completion.
Essential Functions:
Continuous improvement:
Initiate and lead continuous improvement activities to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of products.
Production planning and control:
Manage labor and materials resources to meet production schedules.
Problem solving:
Analyze and resolve work problems by assisting and training workers to solve job-related problems.
Motivation:
Initiate continuous improvement activities to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
Data collection and analysis:
Collect productivity, efficiency, and quality data, and analyze it to identify opportunities for improvement.
Communication:
Coordinate the activities of departments of responsibility to meet production goals, and confer with other departments to coordinate activities between departments.
Training and evaluation:
Train and evaluate employees supervised.
Oversight:
Perform activities or supervise workers when necessary.
Administration:
Administer and enforce company policies, check employee timecards, and administer tardy and absenteeism records.
Safety:
Ensure adherence to work procedures and safety regulations.
Other duties:
Assist in formulating production schedules, participate in daily production meetings, coordinate with engineering and the traffic coordinator, and complete other duties as assigned by management.
COMPETENCIES:
Understanding the Lean Manufacturing principles is preferred.
A minimum of 3 to 5 years of prior supervisory experience.
Natural leader, team builder and motivator.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Strong ERP and Microsoft Office computer skills required.
SUPERVISORY
Responsibilities:
Supervising and motivating manufacturing employees Ensuring that production goals are met Maintaining a safe and compliant work environment Ensuring that products meet quality standards Scheduling and coordinating production activities Solving production problems Training new employees WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Manufacturing work environment.
All employees must comply with all Specified Air Solutions (Rapid Engineering) policies.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to regularly sit, stand, use hands to touch, feel or transport documents and / or product.
Ability to stretch, bend and walk.
Ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
TRAVEL REQUIRED:
Occasional travel may be required.
